Lee’s paintings are a celebration of light and space, gentle colours are built up in many layers to create ethereal skies juxtaposed against worn, weathered shorelines slightly faded by time and made more beautiful for the lines and marks that tell their stories.
Lee is drawn to both inner and outer landscapes and the emotional connection that exists between them. Her paintings have a presence of calm offering the viewer the freedom to search for their own stories and sense of place within each piece. It is Lee's hope to resonate peace and stillness in her work, her paintings are a quiet invitation to slow down, to pause and to breathe. Lee works from her studio in Tauranga in the beautiful Bay of Plenty in NZ.
